Ghost Ship: Institutional Racism and the Church of England - Azariah France-Williams in conversation with the Dean of Portsmouth
Free - book online
Azariah France-Williams is an Anglican priest in Manchester (at the Ascension Church, Hulme) and a writer, podcaster and teacher. As well as preaching at the Cathedral on Racial Justice Sunday (11.00am, 12 February) Azariah has generously agreed to speak at a Saturday event (11 Feb, 4pm), focussing on the themes explored in ‘Ghost Ship’, his first book. In that book he uses interviews, testimony, biblical exegesis, poetry, parody and more to challenge and inspire the church to overcome its failings in the area of racial justice. In conversation with the Dean, Azariah will use prose, poetry and song to make the case for institutional transformation.
The event will be over by 5.15pm, and participants are welcome to stay on for Evensong at 5.45pm.
